Latest Investment: Landal Barnsoul, Dumfries and Galloway

We are excited to share with you the next update on progress at our latest investment site, Landal Barnsoul.

As of early December 2022, the first phase of the project is coming to an end ready to hand over to our management company, Landal GreenParks at the end of the month.

To date, 40 of the 220 new lodges have been built. This comprises of 20 traditional twin lodges, and 20 of the contemporary eco lodge, Torp. The finishing touches are being made to the interior of the lodges and landscaping to the grounds surrounding them. The majority of the lodges have hot tubs, ready for the first guests to use.

A brand-new central facilities building has been erected. This includes a new reception area, back office for the Landal GreenParks site team, retail and café, with an outside terrace planned in next phase of the project. You’ll also find a cinema room for guests to rent out on those cosy evenings.

Within this initial phase of the project, the team have redeveloped the surrounding woodland area with nature-based activities such as kids’ hideaway and outdoor play areas. There are also trails for mountain bike and walking. The impact on the woodland itself is minimal, instead natural elements have been utilised, with the aim for guests to immerse themselves into the beautiful surroundings of Dumfries and Galloway, whilst still protecting it.

As we look to the future of the project, the next stage of Landal Barnsoul is being scheduled. This includes new lodges and a focus on the facilities of the site including a bar, restaurant, swimming pool and sauna.
